LANCO Tests Snow Load Resistance of AZF 29 Inflatable Tent in the Austrian Alps
The field test was conducted in mid-April during a military exercise led by the Austrian Armed Forces at the Lizum military training area, located at approximately 2,000 meters above sea level in the Austrian Alps. This marked a significant milestone in LANCO’s ongoing efforts to validate its products under real-world, mission-critical scenarios.
On site to oversee the trial was Udo Herlitze, LANCO’s expert, who observed the AZF 29’s performance as it faced snow accumulation, freezing temperatures, and high-altitude wind exposure. The timing of the test coincided with the Austrian Army’s final training phase for conscripts who began service in October 2024, enabling the tent to function as a key operational station hub in the field.
The AZF 29 low-pressure inflatable shelter proved its structural integrity and performance under load, maintaining operational functionality throughout the exercise. Designed for rapid deployment and adaptability, the shelter supports a wide range of missions, including use as a mobile communications base or field command post.
The successful snow load test underscores LANCO’s dedication to engineering solutions that meet the evolving challenges of modern defence operations, particularly in remote and high-stress environments.
