ORTEC press release 14.10.23 This trade fair beats all records - over 30,000 visitors storm the FLORIAN 2023 in Dresden The FLORIAN 2023 has grown significantly and is a real crowd puller! From October 12 to 14, over 30,000 visitors literally stormed the trade fair. This significantly surpassed the previous record of 20,000 visitors from 2019, and exhibitors and organizers were overwhelmed: "We've never had that before," said Roland Zwerenz, Managing Director of organizer ORTEC. Ultimately, FLORIAN 2023 continued its record-breaking course: over 350 exhibitors from 11 countries on 30,000 square meters were present at this year's 22nd FLORIAN - more than ever before. On the Saturday of the fair, Saxony's Minister President Michael Kretschmer took a tour of the FLORIAN and was impressed by the range of products and services on show and the number of visitors. At the stand of the Dresden fire department, the requirements for training as an emergency paramedic and fire officer candidate were explained. The Dresden Fire Department drew an extremely positive conclusion from the trade fair. "We were overwhelmed by the rush of visitors to our stand from the very first minute. The mix of technology, personal discussions and the people who are involved in the fire department, rescue service and disaster control on a daily basis are what make this event so special," summarizes Dr. Michael Katzsch, Head of the Dresden Fire Department. 260 participants took part in the recruitment test, more than ever before. The fire and rescue service skills stations were constantly surrounded by numerous people. Many lent a hand themselves to solve a Jenga game with a spreader or to perform an intraosseous access with medical equipment. "The emergency drills at the stand were the highlight for everyone and the feedback we received not only from visitors to the stand, but especially on social media, made us very happy," said a delighted Michael Klahre, spokesperson for the Dresden fire department. "In addition, the Dresden fire department was involved in numerous symposia and workshops, some of which were fully booked within a very short time. The FLORIAN trade fair is an elementary component of our recruitment efforts and the Dresden fire department will be back again as host fire department at the next FLORIAN trade fair. Gunnar Ullmann, Vice President of the Saxony State Fire Brigade Association, is also more than satisfied with the outcome: "We had an overwhelming response to our presentation, which we organized together with the Brandenburg State Fire Brigade Association for the first time. We will expand this and also include other neighboring countries." And Saxony's Youth Fire Service Chief Frank Pfeiffer is already looking to the future: "Inspired by the success of this year's FLORIAN trade fair, we are preparing for the German Youth Fire Service Day in Dresden from September 6 to 8, 2024. "Save the date: The next FLORIAN will take place in Dresden from October 10 to 12, 2024.
