FLORIAN 2024 kicks off in Dresden on October 10: Over 370 exhibitors from 15 countries are taking part this year - more than ever before. Numerous new product presentations have been announced, and FLORIAN 2024 will feature several world premieres such as a new product from Rosenbauer in the field of extinguishing systems and the new Magirus CORE and FLEX fire engines. The "Technical Assistance Combine Harvester" demonstration will also be on show to the general public for the first time. From October 10 to 12, FLORIAN will be showcasing the latest innovations for the fire department, THW and disaster control for the 23rd time. The aescutec® rescue service forum will once again run in parallel. The trade fair will focus on the overarching cooperation of all rescue services in the event of disasters, major events, accidents and epidemics.
One year after the combine harvester accident in Hohen Luckow, there will be a live demonstration of a real-life emergency - for the first time in public, emergency services from the Schleswig-Holstein fire department will show how to rescue people on, under and from a combine harvester. In cooperation with the New Holland authorized dealer Agrartechnik Sachsen and the LUKAS Rescue League, the technology and danger areas of a combine harvester, as well as the knowledge of technical assistance, will be demonstrated and explained live on the combine harvester. There will also be live demonstrations by the Lukas Rescue League on the subject of technical assistance.
The specialist program will also focus on current topics such as flood management/technical rescue-electromobility/special situations and much more. On October 10, the 26th symposium on heavy rainfall events and flood situations will take place. In addition to the presentation of a concept for heavy rain management, information will also be provided on experiences in the Czech Republic. Other topics include dyke defense under prolonged stress and flood forecasting with AI. On October 11, the Federal Agency for Cartography and Geodesy (BKG) will present information maps for heavy rain hazards. At the 2nd Conference on Disaster Medicine and Special Situations on October 11, CBRN special situation guidelines, the Ivena-MANV app and public relations work in special situations will be discussed. The highlight of the conference is the operational report "Active Shooter at the University of Prague". A new feature is the Drone Day of the Saxony Drone Interest Group on October 12, where experts from all over Germany will speak about the latest legal framework, technical innovations and practical applications of drone technology.
The stand of the Saxon Ministry of the Interior will once again focus explicitly on the topic of fighting forest fires and vegetation fires this year. The latest technology from the forest firefighting disaster units will be on display here. Among other things, the new command vehicle will be presented to the general public as a command vehicle for the fire-fighting units. A logistics equipment vehicle will also be presented as a concept vehicle for the future logistics equipment vehicle 2 forest fire according to the strategic forest fire protection concept of the Free State of Saxony.
For the first time, the fire departments from Dresden and Leipzig will be presenting themselves together at the FLORIAN trade fair and providing exciting insights into their wide range of training opportunities. How do you become a firefighter? What does the job of an emergency paramedic involve? And which sports disciplines are important? Competent contact persons from both professional fire departments will be on hand to answer all these questions.
On the theme island of the Leipzig fire department, visitors can expect challenges that require skill and teamwork. On the stage, trainees from both fire departments will be preparing for the challenging course of the Fire&Rescue Games.
